Statistical Approach to Verification of Field Uniformity and Dominance of the Primary Field Component in the GTEM Cell

Software capable to set electrical field strength in any point under interest in the GTEM cell is developed for setting uniform field area in set of points and for verification of the dominance of the primary field component over secondary field components as demanded in the standard IEC 61000-4- 20. Microsoft. NET programming platform is used. Uniformity is checked with statistical criteria. In the standard 75 % confidence level is required. This level is suitable for N = 5 total number of points. 75 % means 4 points. However by N = 6 this level gives in some circumstances erroneous verdict. The Author propose other suitable confidence levels. The application is validated with the GTEM 5317 cell from EMCO.
